Impact and achievements to date

Across five projects, the work we do with our partners in Uganda is making a real and lasting difference to the lives of thousands of local people in the remote areas of Budaka District. By increasing harvests, breeding livestock, building incomes, empowering communities through savings and loans groups and improving diets and health in the home, these projects combine to improve daily lives. Because their parents can now pay for school and exams, the projects also boost the life chances of many children and young adults now able to access education and training because their families are more economically stable.

The impact of our work over the last three years in Budaka

Sixty six volunteer health workers trained and active
64 Village Savings and Loans groups with over 2250 members
Over 1500 women trained in regenerative agriculture
Child nutrition classes run in five villages

Over 400 women in goat rearing groups

Each project tackles a key aspect of poverty.

Together, their synergy is powerful, creating positive and  lasting change in the communities of Budaka.

'The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new'
